The Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) is the execution environment that runs smart contracts on Ethereum. Because so many networks adopted it, including Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Polygon, BNB Chain and Avalanche, the EVM has become the common standard of programmable blockchains. Code written for one EVM chain can usually run on the others, which makes it possible to build once and deploy where your users are.

Same EVM, Different Chains
"EVM-compatible" does not mean identical. Chains differ in block times and finality, supported opcodes and precompiles, gas pricing (layer 2s add a fee for posting data to Ethereum), native tokens and the behaviour of values such as block numbers. Contracts and off-chain code that ignore these differences break in subtle ways. We keep chain-specific settings in configuration, test on each target chain and deploy with identical addresses where that helps users. See layer 2 development and multi-chain tooling.
How We Work
Contracts are developed and tested with Foundry or Hardhat, including tests on forks of the live chain. Off-chain services are written in Rust or TypeScript with ethers or viem. Deployments and admin actions go through scripts and, for anything with value at stake, a multisig.

Ethereum and the major EVM chains and layer 2s. Adding a chain is mostly configuration and testing, as long as it is truly EVM-compatible.
Do you also work outside the EVM?
Yes, on Solana, which has a different programming and account model.

Yes. We start by reviewing the code, tests and deployment setup, then propose what to keep and what to improve.
Who owns the code?
Ownership of the source code is set out in the contract, and the code can be fully yours, including documentation and tests.
