SemBricks is a Dutch software company in Winschoten, in the province of Groningen, founded in 2019. We build custom software that has to be fast, reliable and well integrated, for companies that have outgrown standard tools or whose systems are running into limits of speed, reliability or scale.
Founder
Stephan Engberts founded SemBricks. He has been programming for more than 30 years and has worked in senior management for over 19 years. His focus is C# and .NET, trading bots and automation: software that runs unattended and has to keep running.
That combination shapes how we work. We look at the code and at the business case: what it costs to build and run, who maintains it and what happens when it fails.
What we build
- Custom software: web applications, SaaS platforms, internal tools and process automation.
- Integrations between ERP, accounting, payments, webshops, marketplaces and exchanges.
- High-performance backends in Rust and C# / .NET.
- Trading software: MetaTrader Expert Advisors, trading bots, broker and exchange connectivity and risk tooling.
- Blockchain: smart contracts and account abstraction.
- Consultancy: architecture reviews, build vs. buy and technical due diligence.

How we work
- Measure first. We find out where the real problem is before we build, and sometimes the honest advice is to buy instead of build.
- You own the code. Ownership of the source code is agreed in the contract.
- Confidentiality. We sign an NDA on request.
- Independent. We do not resell platforms or liquidity, so our advice is not tied to a vendor.
