What We Build
Admin Panels The administrative interface is often the most critical internal tool a business operates. It is where data is created, corrected, and managed — where the records that every customer-facing system depends on are maintained, where the configuration that drives business logic is controlled, and where the operations team spends the majority of their working day.
Generic admin panels — auto-generated CRUD interfaces, off-the-shelf admin frameworks — cover the basics but break down when the data is complex, when the operations require context that spans multiple related records, when the business rules governing what can be changed under what conditions need to be enforced, or when the volume of records requires bulk operations that row-by-row editing cannot support.
We build admin panels designed around the actual operational workflows of the people using them. Search and filtering that surfaces the right records quickly. Detail views that show the full context of a record — related records, history, computed values — rather than just the raw database fields. Data Viewers and Reporting Interfaces Data that exists in a database but cannot be accessed without writing SQL is not useful data. Data that can only be accessed through a reporting tool that produces the same fixed reports every time is partially useful. Data that can be explored, filtered, sliced, and viewed in the context that makes it meaningful to the person looking at it — that is data the business can actually use.

Batch Processors High-volume repetitive work is one of the most common sources of wasted time in operations teams. Importing records from supplier files. Done through a well-designed batch processor with appropriate automation, monitoring, and exception handling — it runs reliably in the background and surfaces only the cases that genuinely require human attention.
We build batch processors that handle the full operational lifecycle of a batch job: input validation before processing begins, progress tracking that makes it possible to monitor a running job and understand how far through it is, exception handling that catches individual record failures without aborting the entire batch, detailed run reporting that records what was processed, what succeeded, what failed, and why, and retry mechanisms for transient failures that do not require manual restart from the beginning.
Workflow Managers Work that passes between people — approval workflows, review processes, exception handling queues, multi-step operations where each step is performed by a different team member — needs infrastructure to move correctly. Without it, work gets stuck waiting for someone who does not know it is waiting. Items fall through the cracks between steps. There is no visibility into where a piece of work is or how long it has been sitting idle. Deadlines are missed because no one knows they exist.
Workflow managers give work a defined path through the organisation. Each item in the workflow has a current state, a next required action, an owner, and a history of what has happened to it so far. Transitions between states are governed by rules — an approval can only be granted by someone with the right role, a submission cannot proceed until all required fields are complete, an exception cannot be closed without a documented resolution. Notifications go to the right people when action is required. Management dashboards show the full queue — what is pending, what is overdue, what is blocked.

Import and Export Tools Data moves between systems through files far more often than through APIs in most business environments. Supplier price lists in Excel. Customer data exports from CRMs. Bank statement exports in CSV or OFX. Product feeds in XML. Order exports from ecommerce platforms. These files arrive in formats that were designed for the exporting system, not for the importing system — and the transformation required to get data from one format into the other reliably, with validation, error reporting, and handling for the edge cases the format documentation does not mention, is more work than it looks.
We build import tools that handle the full import lifecycle: file format parsing with tolerance for the real-world variations that arrive in practice, field mapping configuration that does not require developer changes when a supplier changes their column layout, validation that catches data quality issues before they enter the system, duplicate detection, error reporting that tells users exactly which records failed and why, and re-import capability for corrected files. Export tools that produce files in the exact format downstream systems expect — with the column names, data formats, character encoding, and structural conventions that prevent import failures on the receiving end.
Configuration and Settings Management Business systems depend on configuration data that changes over time — pricing rules, product categories, fee schedules, routing rules, approval thresholds, integration credentials, feature flags. Managing this configuration through database queries or developer deployments creates a bottleneck and a risk. Managing it through a well-designed configuration interface gives the right people direct control over the settings that govern system behaviour, with validation that prevents invalid configurations, audit logging that records every change and who made it, and rollback capability when a configuration change has unintended consequences.
Design for People Who Use It All Day
Internal tools have a different design requirement than customer-facing software. A customer who finds your product confusing might leave and find an alternative. An employee who finds their internal tool confusing has to keep using it anyway — and absorbs that friction every single day.

Speed over aesthetics. The people who use internal tools care about how quickly they can complete a task, not how the interface looks. Keyboard navigation, fast search, bulk operations, and the ability to get to the right record without clicking through multiple levels of navigation all matter more than visual design polish.
Density where it helps. Consumer software tends toward spacious, minimal interfaces with limited information on screen at once. Internal tools often need to surface more information per screen — an operations user reviewing a complex record needs to see all the relevant context in one view, not navigate through tabs to assemble a mental picture of the full record. We design for appropriate information density based on how the tool will actually be used.
Error prevention over error recovery. Validation, confirmation dialogs for destructive actions, and constraints that make it impossible to put data into invalid states prevent problems rather than requiring recovery from them. We build validation into internal tools at the right level — preventing errors at the input stage without creating friction for valid operations.
Optimised for known workflows. Unlike customer-facing products where the user journey is varied, internal tools are often used to complete the same workflows repeatedly. We design around those workflows explicitly — minimising the steps required to complete a common task, making the next action obvious from the current state, and removing the friction points that accumulate into hours of wasted time per week.
Integrations That Make Internal Tools Useful
An internal tool that operates in isolation from the systems the business already runs is only partially useful. The tools that provide the most value are those that pull data from where it lives, push updates back to where they belong, and remove the manual data transfer between systems that consumes so much operational time.

Databases. Direct database access for internal tools that need to read and write to the organisation's own data stores — PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server — with appropriate access control and query optimisation for the data volumes involved.
Access Control and Audit
Internal tools handle sensitive business data and operations. Access control and audit logging are not optional features — they are baseline requirements:
Role-based access control. Different users need different levels of access — some can view data, others can edit it, others can approve or reject, others have administrative access to configuration. We implement role-based access at the application level, enforcing access rules consistently across every operation rather than relying on UI-level hiding of features.
Audit logging. Every change made through an internal tool should be traceable — who made it, when, what the previous value was, and what it was changed to. Audit logs are essential for debugging data quality issues, for compliance requirements, and for accountability in operations where mistakes have downstream consequences.
Authentication. Internal tools are deployed within the organisation's network or behind authentication infrastructure that restricts access to authorised users. We implement appropriate authentication — single sign-on integration with existing identity providers where the organisation uses one, username and password with secure password storage where SSO is not available, and session management that handles token expiry and re-authentication correctly.

Starting a New Internal Tool Project
